South Connacht Cross Country
The South Connachts cross country took place in Bushfield Loughrea on the 26th and 27th of January. The minor girls took home a team silver medal. The team consisted of Isobelle Conroy, Ciara Farrell, Lillian Walsh, Ciara O Connor, Charlotte Loughnane, Abbie O Toole, Kate Murtagh, Nora Brady Rian Collins placed 4th in the Minor Boys race and along with Conor Joyce qualified for the Connacht finals In the Junior boys race Conor Byrne and Keelan Moorhead qualified to the next round The Senior boys took home gold in the team event, with Oisin Davis winning individual gold and Ross McGuinness winning individual bronze. The Senior boys team consisted of Oisin Davis, Ross McGuinness, Anthony Boyle, Luke Forde Emily Miskella placed 4th in the Senior girls race, and along with Grace Leen qualified for the Connacht finals. Connacht Finals Our students took part in the Connacht cross country finals in Loughrea on Sunday 6th of February in tough conditions. The minor girls team ran their heart out placing 6th in the team event. Rian Collins placed 5th in the minor boys race and has qualified for the All Ireland finals. The senior boys team took home the Connacht shield by winning the team event. The team consisted of: Oisin Davis, Ross McGuinness, Anthony Boyle, Luke Forde Oisin Davis put in a fine performance by winning the individual race with great ease. Emily Miskella placed 6th in the Senior Girls race. Rian, Emily and the Senior boys team will now head to Belfast on the 12th of March for the All Ireland cross country. Comments are closed.
