The Annual Medtronic Awards in Presentation College, Athenry was held on Friday November 29th 2019.
The awards were presented to Eoin Clarke and Sarah Feeney by Ms Breege Conroy. The award is open for application to students who study any three of the STEM subjects for the Leaving Cert. and who are currently following a STEM based college course. Congratulations to David Casserly, Evelyn Concannon and Paraic O' Neill who recently marked a significant phase in their professional development at the Mount Wolesley Hotel in Tullow, Co. Carlow. They are the first cohort of teachers from Presentation College, Athenry to complete the training programme in Instructional Intelligence with the renowned Canadian academic, Professor Barrie Bennett. They are now charged with facilitating workshops for teachers in their own schools so that the principles underpinning Instructional Intelligence can be disseminated to a wider audience.
Sabina Rabbitte & Clara Keane (TY) have been chosen to represent Presentation College Athenry in 'The Great TAD Bake-off" which will be judged by TV Chef Kevin Dundon in the Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasloe this Thursday November 28th. The theme of the competition is 'Sweet & Festive' in the lead up to Christmas with an emphasis on nutrition & healthy eating.Their entry "Festive Vanilla & Coconut Cake" looks fabulous and we wish them all the best. Well done girls!
PCA hosted its Annual Colleges Fair on Friday 25th October 2019. Colleges in attendance included NUIG, GMIT, AIT, UL, Mary I, Mountbellew Agricultural College and UCD. Solas and Guidance Europe also exhibited. Our picture shows past pupil Aoife McSweeney helping out on the UCD stand for the day. Aoife was one of 20 past Pres students invited to come along for the day to offer information and advice to our senior cycle students.
